Ageing, Sagging, Lines - Laser resurfacing is an effective method of removing wrinkles from the skin, plumping and lifting. Aged and sagging skin is caused by a depletion in collagen and elastin in the layer beneath. Laser works by gently heating through the layers to promote collagen production, which provides a firmer and smoother surface.

Hyperpigmentation - Sun damage, age spots and uneven pigmentation can be successfully treated with fractional laser. Laser induced skin resurfacing lifts and lightens darker patches of skin, and is an effective treatment to lighten melasma, brown spots, freckles and pigmented lesions.

Acne - Acne and resulting damage to skin affects many people, and most try numerous treatments, products and medications in the pursuit of clearer, calmer skin. Acne laser treatments use specific wavelengths and energies that create photo selective damage to acne producing bacteria. The laser hits the metabolic by product of acne bacteria and destroys the acne without damaging surrounding tissues. The laser treatment also reduces sebum and creates an improved skin texture.

Scarring & Acne Scarring - Fractional laser promotes cutaneous skin remodelling through micro thermal channels at different depths. This enables the skin to repair scarring such as acne ice pick, box car and rolling scars and the associated discolouration of skin.

Stretch Marks - The red or silvery appearance visible with stretch marks is caused by a sudden rupture of collagen and elastin in the skin, usually due to rapid growth. With fractional laser microscopic laser columns penetrate deep into the damaged tissue within stretch marks, causing the stretch marks to become narrower and smoother. The laser stimulated collagen production rebuilds skin density and therefore reduces the appearance of the stretch marks.

Treatments always start with a full consultation to assess the skin and suitability for laser treatment. A patch test must be performed, and the full treatment scheduled for at least 48 hours following. At treatment the skin is cleansed and prepared for laser. The laser is delivered in a series of shots which feel hot but not painful. Cooling air is delivered at intervals to minimise any discomfort.

Skin will appear red after treatment, however there is minimal downtime. Clients are advised to continue the use of a high factor suncream and avoid heating the skin or using topical retinols, acids or abrasive products.

Skin starts to improve in the days following, however full results develop over the coming weeks as collagen production increases. Courses of treatments are recommended, building upon results, the number of treatments required depend on the condition of the skin and the severity of concern. Treatments can be taken at 4 week intervals.
